
here is a picture of ms. lauryn hill in celebration of her 45th birthday (which was on tuesday), timeless style, and because her verse on “how many mics” still slaps to this day. a few years ago, scrutinizing ms. hill for the behavior she’s more recently known for became an internet meme and cultural norm. though she’s not above accountability, her art has rightfully been a fixture in many of our lives and i wish the world extended her more grace. i’ll always have a soft spot for the black girl from jersey who rolled with the refugees and gave us beautiful music at the expense of so much.
